Planning sleep schedules helps on long-haul flights
16/06/2010
Sleep schedules on long-haul flights need to be geared towards the destination, it has been claimed.
By thinking ahead, people can avoid jet lag and will be able to get a decent night''s sleep when they finally do get to bed, lifehacker.com.au revealed.
For flights that land first thing in the morning, travellers need to ensure they sleep as close to the time they arrive at the destination.
Once off the plane, people should avoid dozing off again until it is time to go to bed in the country they are in.
The writer continued: "If it arrives in the evening, you should dodge sleeping at all. And once you arrive, you need to resist falling to sleep before the appropriate local time."
It was recently suggested by author of the Good Sleep Guide Sammy Margo that people who are struggling to sleep should ask themselves questions about what they are doing during the day that is preventing shut-eye.
