High quality bedding is crucial for anyone going to university for the first time, it has been suggested.
According to Dorm Decor 101, the first purchase for any fresher should be a decent pillow, which provides the necessary support for the head and neck.
This should be followed by pillow and mattress protectors, it suggested, as these help provide a barrier that can help eradicate dust mites and ensure the bed is kept in good condition.
A feather duvet cover can also help to add a touch of luxury to student digs, which in turn may help the individual get a great night''s sleep, it continued.
Furthermore, the site recommended that bed linen should be purchased in "peaceful patterns and calming colours to help the student relax their mind at the end of a busy day".
It was recently suggested in an article for the Calgary Herald that neutral bed linen will be better at standing the test of time than highly coloured items.
