Stay neutral when choosing bed linen

Selecting neutral bed linen is the best option for anyone looking to redecorate their bedroom, it has been revealed.

The Calgary Herald highlighted a number of top tips for making the most of the bedroom without over-spending or being too extravagant.

Local decorator Elaine Carnegie told the paper that neutral bedding will "last for years" and is therefore preferable to brightly-coloured hues that "may fade over time from laundering".

Investing in a high quality mattress is also crucial, the expert said, particularly as people spend an awful lot of time sleeping.

The paper also advised homeowners to measure their bedrooms thoroughly before purchasing a new bed, simply because "there''s no point getting a king-size bed that won''t fit in the master bedroom".

Laura Kemp, in an article for the South Wales Echo, recently suggested that changing the bedding is still very much a female-orientated task.
