Look after your bedding, homeowners told

Bedding needs to be cared for in order to give the most satisfaction to homeowners, an interior design expert has said.
Janice Anderssen, Women24''s decor and DIY expert, revealed that keeping bedding fresh is crucial to maintaining the cleanliness of the rest of the bedroom.
She advised that mattresses should be vacuumed to remove dust and bed bugs, while the mattress cover needs to be sanitised every three to four months.
"Avoid stains by using a mattress protector, but if you do get marks, dab them with some carpet cleaner or any suitable detergent and make sure the mattress is dry before making up the bed," she suggested.
Ms Anderssen also advised giving the duvet a spring clean every so often, as this will help to keep it fresh and allergen-free.
Last month, the Simmons Bedding Company revealed that mattress allergens could be affecting the quality of people''s sleep.
