Kids'' beds are a worthwhile investment that can give years of pleasure if time is spent ensuring that the right one is chosen, according to some designers.
Well-designed furniture not only looks better, but good design is also often more practical and safe, Patrick de Groot, owner of Dubai-based business JustKidding, told the National.
"A smaller bed makes a child feel safe, and a properly designed bed also provides actual safety to a baby or young child think higher sides that prevent them from falling out," he added.
The mattress is a particularly important aspect to consider, Mr de Groot went on to say, as it should have the correct proportions in order to give the right level of support.
A recent article in Wired suggested that parents could take a DIY approach to their kids'' beds, putting together a unique bedstead by combining different pieces of furniture.
