''Hide-a-bed'' could be alternative to sofa beds

People who have recently moved into a smaller space than they are used to may be interested in a novel alternative to the sofa bed.
Called Hide-a-beds, the sleeping solutions are very popular with owners of flats and small homes as they can double as other pieces of furniture like cupboards, shelves and seats, the Ottawa Citizen reports.
As they are available in both horizontal and vertical configurations, they can be accommodated in most rooms, although sofa beds may be preferable if a place to sit is needed.
"The only thing that''s standard on them is the size of mattress, either twin or double," Gerry Lavoie, owner of The Guest Room, told the newspaper.
"Other than that, the rest of the bed is customisable and made to measure."
A recent piece in the Pattaya Daily News advised that dual-purposed bedroom furniture, such as sofa beds, are a great way to save both space and money in a new room.
