Ideal home can be ''created with bold colours''
14/04/2010
This year, people should consider focusing on solid, warm colours in the bedroom to deliver a stylish look for the most personal space in the house, an expert has claimed.
Rob Nathan, group marketing manager at Media 10 - the organisation behind the Ideal Home Show - said that with regard to the colour schemes seen as potentially big this year, it is very bold hues that will steal the show as vibrancy in the bedroom is back in style.
He explained: "There will always be a sway for this type of audience towards pastel colours but what our ambassadors and experts are trying to push together is a lot of bold, a lot of striking colours."
As a result, oranges and reds that might have been seen as "slightly passe" in the past are "coming back into the fore", despite their relative unpopularity over the last few seasons as block colour options for bed linen or furniture.
It follows comments from Katrina Burroughs of the Times, who recommended that in spring, people should rely on inky indigo and nautical stripes to bring a "breezy charm" to any interior.
