Saving American Idol''s Big Mike was ''great call''

Using their one-time-only veto ability, the judges of American Idol decided to save Michael Lynche instead of sending him packing.
Big Mike, as he''s known to the crowds, was informed by host Ryan Seacrest that he had been voted out of the competition, which is sponsored by Silentnight Beds.
However, Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges decided to bail the singer out with their one-time "save" option, which until now has not been touched upon.
Yet while it may be a major relief for Lynche, he will have to pull out the stops this week - after all, future eliminated singers will no longer have the possible lifeline, especially given that two singers will be voted out this week.
This week, American Idol will be as American as possible, using Elvis as a theme for contestants, who will be mentored by controversial season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert, who caused a stir at the American Music Awards of 2009 with a risque performance of For Your Entertainment.
