Bed linen ''draws on nautical themes'' this season
13/04/2010
Window treatments and bedding are central to the feeling of a makeover in the bedroom, according to a new report by a national newspaper.
The Times asserted that window treatments such as curtains and blinds are getting a maritime makeover, using a range of "fresh nautical stripes" to deliver a relaxing oceanic feel, while plain navy is a great colour to use - so long as it has a little bit more character, such as with metal eyelets.
However, bed linen is undergoing a much similar evolution, with nautical cushions using anchors and other designs seeming particularly popular.
Additionally, the use of "psychedelic paisleys and tropical florals" may not be "a look for the faint-hearted", though the Times feels that it is "fabulous" nonetheless.
People struggling for ideas this month in terms of interior decor have been told in a report for the Denver Post by Matt Locke, a Colorado native from HGTV''s Design Star in Canada and the US, that there are many talented design professionals in the online design world and they ought to be looked into.
