Couples urged to buy big beds
29/03/2010
Couples should buy the biggest bed that they can afford to ensure they get a good night''s sleep, it has been claimed.
This will minimise disturbance caused by or to a partner, according to the Sleep Council.
Speaking to the Telegraph, the council''s Jessica Alexander explained that beds are often at the root of sleep incompatibility between couples.
She told the newspaper: "You should be able to lie side-by-side with your arms behind your head and your elbows out, without touching.
"Even conventionally sized partners can have wildly different requirements."
March is National Bed Month, with the Sleep Council encouraging Brits to focus on getting a good night''s sleep to boost their health.
Ms Alexander explained that getting a full night''s sleep is "the answer to feeling and looking your best", whereas a bad night''s sleep can cancel out all of the expense lavished on eating healthily and getting plenty of exercise.
