Bamboo beds are becoming an increasingly popular trend among those who prioritise environmentally-friendly furniture, an expert has claimed.
Sasha Stricker, president and creative director of online design firm decorateITonline, said that traditional methods of manufacturing can often require a lot of resources that take a long time to replace but that this method is much quicker.
She said that the material required to build a bamboo bed can grow in five years or less, compared to the 30 or 40 years that can be required to regrow harvested oak, ash or pine trees.
"We consistently strive to provide environmentally friendly alternatives for every aspect of the design process, so when we saw it we knew it would be a great fit for us," she stated.
Pablo Paster, weekly columnist for TreeHugger.com, recently claimed that sustainable bedding is becoming increasingly accessible, with a growing number of people using natural latex foam mattresses.
