Feng Shui-based colour scheme can ''help fight insomnia''

The proper use of colours played upon by feng shui can help create a "serene atmosphere" when you go into your bedroom, helping fight the problems associated with sleeplessness, it has been said.
Writing for Express Buzz, SBS Surendran explained that certain hues can "either lift or dampen spirits or create a calming or vitalising effect", with colour therapy being a key trait of ancient Egyptians and Greeks when addressing illnesses, before also being introduced to the world through feng shui.
"Even today, you''ll find pink rooms in the cells of some prisons in the US to sedate violent prisoners," he continued, noting that green is used in UK hospitals to "foster a sense of nurturing".
Mr Surendran added that feng shui studies demonstrate that changing wall colours to pastel shades and using comfortable bed sheets and mattresses will ensure people don''t have any problems with surroundings, while removing technology also helps maintain peacefulness.
Ideal Home recently recommended that a person should use bed linen to reinvigorate the home, using simple shapes and soft colours to update in spring.
