Want good sleep? Go to Norwich, avoid Aberdeen A new study has revealed that the best place to get sleep in the UK is Norwich, while a city north of the border is terrible for those wanting to get their head down.

QVC carried out a poll of 3,000 adults to find out how many hours of sleep people had on average in a number of areas in Great Britain, noting that Norwich-based individuals were clocking in 6.38 hours of rest a night - well ahead of second-placed Plymouth, which registered 6.25 hours.

Sheffield, Cardiff and York made up the rest of the top five. However, things are not as comfortable as they may seem to be in Aberdeen.

That''s because the Granite City was found to have the worst average sleep time, with residents only racking up 5.23 hours in bed - well over an hour less than their counterparts on the Broads.

Chelmsford, Belfast, Birmingham and Bristol also appeared on the top five for poor rest.

In a recent piece published by Kenneth Lichstein, the director of the Sleep Research Project and professor at the University of Alabama, different races of people have varying sleeping habits.
