Gwyneth Paltrow dishes out sleep tips
05/03/2010
Gwyneth Paltrow, one of the world''s most famous actresses, has spoken of her desire to see people getting as much as they can from their bed on a night.
Teaming up with her doctor Frank Lipman, she told fans to "get some shuteye" in this month''s Goop newsletter, noting how sleep deprivation can result in weight gain and premature aging and asking her doctor for a few tips on how to increase sleep hours.
He said that for two weeks, people should eliminate sugar, fizzy drinks, refined grains and processed foods as these can act as metabolic disruptors which overstress organs involved in hormone regulation and can have a serious affect on sleep cycles and relaxation in bed.
Gwyneth said: "Basically everyone I know is knackered, me included. But I didn''t imagine that there could be health problems associated with not getting a good night''s rest."
It was Shakespeare in Love which saw Gwyneth Paltrow sweep up the awards for her portrayal of Viola De Lesseps and her next big film will be Iron Man 2, released this summer.
