Cold winter weather ''fought off with beds''
03/03/2010
As a means of keeping warm during the coldest winter weather for decades, British people have used their beds to escape it, according to one company survey released this week.
Gocompare.com said that people have "armed" themselves with extra bedding, hot water bottles, more items of clothing and bed socks, though this has resulted in a lot of passion being removed from relationships over the time.
Head of utilities at Gocompare.com Mark Greening said that since mid-December, the UK has seen some of the severest winter weather for over 30 years and keeping warm while putting up with heating bills has been a "real challenge for some people".
He continued: "It seems the cold weather has meant many of us have been reduced to hibernating under the duvet and putting extra layers on rather than stripping off."
Yesterday, to coincide with National Bed Month, Crampex recommended that people buy the biggest and best bed they can as a person spends around 25 years of their life in bed.
