Good bed linen is ''absolute must''
02/03/2010
Buying bed linen is a task which must be carried out with a number of things in mind, as a mattress and duvet can really benefit from the correct selection, it is believed.
Speaking to GlamNest, bed linen salesman and expert Aaron Stewart said that three things must be considered when purchasing bed linen: whether or not the pattern is nice, if it is within the buyer''s price range and how it feels in the shop.
He asserted that the biggest mistake people can make is to buy £50 bed sheets with an 800 thread count and believe: "If I wash these three times they''ll really soften up and they''ll be amazing to sleep on".
Despite this, Mr Stewart said that such a "bargain price point" will likely feel "hard as a rock"and will probably get worse with repeat washes.
He concluded: "I think the absolute essentials on a bed are a great set of sheets, a blanket, and a really soft down comforter."
Last month, Theresa Rose of Helium explained that bedding is one of the most important investments that a student can make when moving away from home to go to university.
