While many people may simply overlook the asset, or just buy a different lampshade, those redecorating their home should always consider the impact of decent lighting, it is said.
In a new report for the Montreal Gazette, Shauna Hardy argued that the trend of matching reading lamps placed on bedside tables is being turned on its head, replaced instead by suspended fixtures that flank the bed''s sides.
The newspaper argued that consumers are enjoying a number of crossover styles that mix a traditional look with a modern feel, adding that lamp shapes are expanding beyond rounded lines and instead embrace oval and rectangular shapes.
"And natural elements are being incorporated into lamp designs - crushed seashells or wood are an excellent way to bring a little bit of the outdoors into the home," it was added.
Interior design and energy mogul Niranjan Babu recently told the Bangalore Mirror that people should use good lighting and ventilation to "keep the room bright and comfortable".
