Children''s bedroom walls ''should be designed with future changes in mind''

When addressing a bedroom for a child, parents may want to focus on customising bed linen or blankets as the walls could change in the future as they get older, it is believed.
Rita Minogue, writing for Ozcar Guide, explained that children are similar to adults when it comes to the decor of a bedroom, as both prefer to have neutral or pastel colours to create atmosphere.
However, it may be better if parents customise their child''s walls a little more than those of grown-ups, as it may make them feel more comfortable.
Ms Minogue continued: "For children the choice of colours is focused on pastel shades with some decorative designs suitable for them.
"White colour is least recommended. Keep in mind that children grow fast and therefore the colour of the walls and decorative objects might not be very useful in a few years."
Earlier in the month, the Toronto Star spoke to interior designer Karen Sealy, a regular on Canadian TV who asserted that ultra-modern decor is often too unforgiving.
