World''s largest mattress domino rally attempt announced

While it usually takes much more concerted efforts to organise a record-breaking attempt, sometimes ambition can pay off and that is what residents of one Western Australian town.
People from Merredin in the Antipodean state have announced that the Merredin Show is to return on March 27th after an absence of over two years after it was cancelled last year due to a lack of community members being able to help organise it.
Now, however, a mattress domino rally is being held, with aims to make it the biggest one in the world, the Merredin-Wheatbelt Mercury has announced.
Show committee spokesperson Linda Rooney explained that participants must collect a mattress each and then stand in a long line around the central oval with their mattress upright behind them before the first person falls backwards onto the second, making human dominoes.
She continued: "To achieve the record of more than 180 human dominoes, a number of mattresses are being donated, however anyone who is interested in participating is invited to bring their own mattress to the show in exchange for free entry."
One of the previous record holders of the mattress domino rally was the BBC, after Blue Peter organised one in Television Centre, London.
