Bedroom decor tips offered for prioritisation of relaxation

By making subtle changes to the bedroom, people can improve their quality of sleep, according to an expert.
Syndicated columnist Marni Jameson explained that people should start by making it a mellow colour, as bedroom decor ought to be relaxing and not filled with stimulating patterns and hues "like citrus orange or taxi yellow"; natural greens, lavenders and browns are preferred.
All distractions must also be dispensed of, getting rid of workout equipment, office items, laptops, mobile phones and paperwork as nothing should make you feel like you need to do something other than sleep.
Cool, dark rooms are also the best place to fall asleep, Ms Jameson continued, meaning that heating should be turned down and light blocked out completely, as it is in our DNA to be awake and active during daylight hours.
Earlier in the week, Ketan Sheth, the managing director of Goldmine Project Consultants in India, recommended the wholesale use of storage in the bedroom, ridding the entire room of clutter and further distractions.
