Hair dryers, irons ''helpful in fight against bed bugs''

Any houses besieged by bed bugs may be best defended with some assets that the homeowner already has, according to one expert in the field of pest control.
The Bed Bug Support Dept revealed that those wanting to fight the scourge of insects on the mattress, should they be identified instantly, could be killed using a hair dryer or an iron, providing the appliances are hot and used with relative care.
By using a vacuum cleaner, people may also be successful in preventing the likelihood of bed bugs infesting a room, though the appliance is also very effective in fighting them once they take hold of a bedroom.
The Bed Bug Support Dept continued: "Steam clean your curtains, carpet, mattress and even the walls or other surfaces so that you can end up killing bed bugs for good.
"Also, don''t forget to wash your bedding as well as clothes which are prone to getting infected; the higher the temperature you use, the better."
It follows advice from Lisa Miller of the Ladybug Pest Control Group, who told 12 News that major bed bug cases are on the rise and must be treated seriously by homeowners.
