Children''s bed ditched in favour of Jesus trolley
18/12/2009
Most people are used to the legend of Jesus Christ being born in a manger, though some children have put a distinctly new - and modern - twist on the story of Christmas.
That''s because a group of schoolchildren went into the local supermarket to perform the nativity story, only to swap the famous makeshift children''s bed for one of their choice: a shopping trolley, the Bolton News reported.
Young kids from St Peter and St Paul''s Primary School went to the town centre''s Sainsbury''s store to tell the story of the birth of the Christian lord, placing their makeshift crib next to the door and performing the story as the day went on.
Filled with festive cheer, the children acted out the story and sang festive songs while shoppers went about their shopping.
In order to celebrate Christmas, Martin Freeman and Ashley Jensen have teamed up to star in an improvised comedy about the same performing art, simply entitled Nativity!.
