Teenagers should ''get more choice in bedroom decor'' Posted by Matt Gardner

Many teenagers insist on showing their individuality through their choice of clothing and hairstyle, so it stands to reason that they''d want some input into their living situation as well, according to a new report.

Sarah Lynam, spokeswoman for PBteen, spoke to SILive.com about how this age group is increasingly showing a greater interest in decorating, particularly in light of how the market is going out of its way to cater to its tastes.

She explained: "I think for a long time they''ve wanted to show off their style and personalities.

"Now there are a lot more options available that allow them to pick and choose what''s going to reflect their personality."

As a result, many are buying bed linen from the brands they enjoy, or getting a technology boost near to their bed through such things as iPods and games.

However, not all is well for young people and technology in bedrooms, with a recent report from the University of New England detailing how around 13 per cent of children between three and four years of age have access to a TV from their bedroom - something it sees as worrying.
