A proud father has been knocked down a peg or two by a columnist who asserts that his idea is frankly madness.
Known only as Nathan from Buckinghamshire, the gent is considering buying his two-year-old daughter "Guinevere''s Four Poster Bed" which he found on the internet for $4,200 (£2,580).
Speaking to straight-talking Natasha, the Daily Mirror''s very own problem solver, he explained that despite the price and his friends all classing him as "nuts", he and his wife have both fallen in love with it, but that he feels in danger of spoiling his child.
Commenting jovially yet firmly on the whole situation, Natasha said: "Any child that sleeps in this bed is bound to be a brat of the highest order. Anyway, children shouldn''t sleep in lavish bespoke beds. They should sleep in a coal sack under the stairs."
Earlier this month, the Age revealed statistics from a study by the University of New England which discovered that around 13 per cent of kids between the ages of three and four are allowed access to TV when in bed - a "worrying" statistic, it believes.
