Nicole Richie confined to bed after pneumonia scare

Reality television star Nicole Richie is recovering in bed after she was hit hard by pneumonia earlier in the month.
The 28-year-old actress and former showbiz TV partner of Paris Hilton on The Simple Life revealed that her bout of pneumonia will force her to seek refuge, comfort and support from her mattress as she looks to get back to full fitness.
Nicole, who gave birth to son Sparrow in September and has a 22-month-old daughter called Harlow, was taken to Los Angeles'' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after feeling unwell, with doctors diagnosing her as suffering from the condition.
Speaking on her blog, the star said: "Right now it''s important for me to stay in bed and recover. Reading all of your messages on Twitter and my website has really brightened my spirits and I am so grateful for the support.
"I look forward to seeing you all very soon."
Nicole Richie is perhaps most famous for being the adopted daughter of soul singer Lionel Richie.
