People ought to take good care of their mattress if they are to get plenty of life and comfort out of it, according to an expert in allergens.
Aller-Ease explained that around ten million allergen particles can be found in the average mattress, highlighting that while new changes may be made elsewhere in the home such as smoke detector battery replacement and home decor, people should also consider some new routines for their bed.
The company explained: "Regularly flipping your mattress can not only extend the life of the mattress, but can also result in a more comfortable night''s sleep.
"Many mattress experts suggest flipping it every six months - others say as often as you change your bedding or sheets."
It was added that the average mattress can double in weight every decade due to the accumulation of allergens, noting that a cover for between the bed and bedding can really help maintain cleanliness.
Mattresses made the news in Australia this week when the Brisbane Times revealed that plucky students were selling mattress space in their flats and houses to make a huge profit from subletting to dozens of overseas students.
