Sleeping in top 10 worst airports is ''not an option''

Tourists wanting to sample the delights of the world have been warned off ten airports from across the globe after they were named as the worst ones to sleep in should things go awry.
And we Brits have nothing to be proud of, with Heathrow Airport - the UK''s largest - coming in at number ten due to the lack of benches for people to bed down on as well as flea infestations, according to compilers of the poll at sleepinginairports.net.
Luckily, we''re not the worst in Europe, with sleeping tourists at Rome''s Fiumicino - where birds live in the ceiling - must dodge bird droppings when trying to get some rest.
Topping the survey was, perhaps surprisingly, Charles de Gaulle Airport, which was labelled "worse than a third world" facility by one of the many travellers submitting their comments, adding that a lack of sleep is only compounded by lost luggage, homeless people and the heat.
Other airports in the top ten included JFK in New York as well as those in Delhi, Los Angeles and Manila.
Maybe this discomfort with Charles de Gaulle Airport was represented in recent travel figures from Aeroports de Paris, which found there to be a 6.5 per cent fall in passenger numbers in June.
