A couple staying in a hotel room in Florida have been tricked into trashing their rented abode after a malicious prank phone call made them take drastic measures.
The married pair, who will not have criminal charges filed against them and have not been asked to pay for the damages inflicted in the bedroom, were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Orlando with their three children when a "front-desk clerk" told them of a so-called gas leak in the building.
After informing them of the fake hazard, the poser took the couple through a number of instructions, including the smashing of the room''s window and culminating in the scared people throwing their mattress to the floor from their second-floor window.
However, the hotel manager soon arrived before the pair could use the mattress to its full potential, with the boss responding to a noise complaint registered by a neighbouring resident.
Earlier this month, the powerful Hilton brand named Andrew Flack as its vice-president of global brand marketing, overseeing promotions and brand strategy.
