Child''s bedroom should be ''clutter-free and colourful'' By Elizabeth Mewes

When designing a child''s bedroom, parents should prioritise colourful hues and good space-saving initiatives, it has been recommended.

Niamh Tuohy of the Mayo News explained that children absolutely love bright colours, describing them as like "rainbows with legs and arms" themselves.

As a result, the little ones should be consulted about their favourite colour matches, though this should not be made a permanent scheme through paint on the walls.

Instead, it should be adopted in bed linen, lamp shades or window dressings to allow for easy changes when needed, she asserted.

Furthermore, and to make the entire place safe, parents should invest in good storage for the room, Ms Tuohy added.

She justified that toys will likely be tripped over at some point, so to have under-the-bed solutions and shelving is safe and will help the room look much nicer.

Last week, Terri Sapienza of the Washington Post recommended a bedroom colour scheme which reflected the feeling of a beach, with the interior design expert telling readers that soft and light shades of turquoise and tangerine can work wonderfully together.
