Pictures have been released detailing the inside of the luxurious apartment of Bernard Madoff, the man who literally made off with millions before being sentenced to prison this week.
The former non-executive chairman of the NASDAQ stock exchange was handed down a 150-year prison term after his pyramid-style scheme was discovered by authorities, with the fraudster carrying out the biggest investor fraud committed by a single person.
This, of course, was reflected in the criminal''s assets, and Mr Madoff''s bedroom was a particularly impressive living space which contained a Georgian approach to interior decoration, the New York Daily News revealed.
A canopied bed also dominated the room, while a fireplace and Chinese porcelain from the 18th century adorning the walls - that was until the police seized the entire place as assets!
Mr Madoff''s fraudulent activities may have been replicated by former cricket mogul Sir Allen Stanford, who is currently under investigation over similar fraud claims.
