Natasha Kaplinsky has taken a major pay cut in order to spend more time with her young baby and be able to tuck him into bed each night.
The newsreader, who earns £1 million in her capacity at Five, will have her £6,000-a-week pay slashed, cutting her takings down to around £700,000.
Her son, Arlo, is now eight months old and the presenter wanted to take a more active role with him, ensuring her face is remembered each night.
It is widely believed Ms Kaplinsky will miss the 7pm bulletin for Five in the coming months, though she is likely to take the reins for the 5pm slot.
She will follow suit with her predecessor, Kirsty Young, who also stepped back from the role in 2007 to have her second child.
Peter Sissons recently proved not to be Natasha''s biggest fan, however, with the veteran newsreader commenting on how many current affairs presenters are doing well out of their looks.
