Mattress tips for back pain sufferers

Those suffering from uncomfortable back pain should take note of several key points made by an American mattress specialist, which highlights the important role of a person''s bed.
Medical grade mattresses are the most direct way of facing back problems, Rocky Mountain said, with costs of over £1,000 being "worth every penny" for those hoping to find a long-term solution.
It added that coils had to be done away with as they did not align the body properly - instead, buying a memory foam mattress could supply the back with the necessary weight on pressure points.
Those unable to afford this may want to invest in an air mattress instead, which can be personally regulated.
Finally, those wanting to splash out may want to look into latex mattresses, Rocky Mountain maintained, as they gave all of the benefits of memory foam but reacted quicker to movement and position change.
"Keep in mind that spinal alignment and pressure relief and the most important factors when trying to find a mattress to help with your back pain," it added.
Like with any other product, Family Doctor recommended that people watch out for latex allergies, which can potentially require immediate medical attention.
