Bipolar disorder linked to sleep deprivation

A recent study in Sydney has understood that people who impact on their circadian rhythms - the 24-hour life cycle - are prone to mood changes, it has been reported.
The Times of India told of the study carried out at Swinburne University of Technology, which found that any serious changes to the body clock can trigger a relapse in those who suffer from bipolar disorder.
Greg Murray, the lead researcher, understood that monitoring this body clock could act as an early warning system to those who suffer from the mood-changing psychological disorder.
Mr Murray added: "For our purpose, it was very interesting that circadian activity data really did show a marked signal of deterioration in the days and even weeks before the relapse."
Yesterday, the Calgary Herald warned parents that a lack of bed rest for children at the end of each day could interfere with their learning at school.
