New mattress 'could be the key to good sleep'

A new type of mattress could be the key to getting a better night's sleep, one expert has asserted.
Jesse Cannon of the Healthy Back Institute notes that many people use the same mattresses and pillows for years without ever thinking about the kind of support they offer.
He adds that is vital to question whether a mattress provides the support needed or whether there is enough space for two people to sleep comfortably on it.
Mr Cannon also suggests people question if they sleep better when they are away from home, advising that if the answer is yes it may be time to purchase a new bed and mattress.
The back specialist also notes that listening to relaxing music before bed, avoiding caffeine later in the day and avoiding watching TV before bed can all aid successful sleep.
A recent article in the Glasgow Daily Times emphasised that it is best to avoid cutting corners when buying a bed as people will spend an average of 11,689 hours in one over a five year period.
