Opting for the correct mattress can improve an individual's wellbeing as well as having a positive impact on the environment, according to one commentator.
Writing for online resource Nature's Bedroom, KC Ennis asserts that mattresses made from latex are an ideal solution for "a green bedroom and safe sleeping".
The reporter adds that such mattresses are a "safe haven" for sleepers as they are hypoallergenic and anti-microbial, which means that mildew and dust mites stay clear.
Natural latex mattresses also provide support to the user as they contour to the body's natural position and relive pressure points, notes the author, adding that they can lead to "less tossing and turning for a deeper more restful sleep".
Meanwhile, an unnamed author recently asserted that memory foam mattresses are "great" for allergy sufferers as they are hypoallergenic.
Writing on online news resource Inside the Home, the commentator added that memory foam offers a luxurious and comfortable night's sleep as they "cradle" the body.
