A child's bedroom 'should contribute to good sleep' When decorating a child's bedroom it is important to ensure that the space will help them get a good night's sleep, according to one expert.

Interiors enthusiast S B S Surendan, who is also a Feng Shui consultant, notes that bedrooms often become filled with clutter, despite the fact that for many people it is the most used room in the house.

Writing for the Deccan Herald, the reporter advises that keeping computers and TVs out of the bedroom can ensure that the space is preserved for relaxation and sleep.

Brightly coloured decor and plentiful lights will "motivate" teenagers, they add.

The expert continued to say that single rather than bunk beds are better for children.

An interiors commentator recently asserted that children should be allowed input in choosing their own bed.

Writing for online resource Apartment Life, Thomas Pretty noted that the right choice of children's bed can make a kid's room "an idyll of relaxation".
