i would like to know the difference between mattress protector and a topper.
Also what are the benefits of a mattress topper/protector?
Reply from our Silentnight Expert:
A mattress protector offers a further layer of protection for your mattress - most commonly against water and stains. They can also add a hypo allergenic anti dust mite layer to your mattress as well depending on the protector you buy.
Mattress toppers add an extra layer of comfort for your mattress. For instance, you could buy a memory foam topper for your bed to achieve memory foam support even if your actual mattress doesnt feature memory foam.
The only issue with mattress toppers is that whilst they can provide great levels of comfort - if your mattress is already suffering from wear and tear and you are simply trying to put off purchasing a new mattress then a mattress topper isn't always the answer. This is beacuse it sits on your mattress and will not hide any sags or lumps that are already there.
